Frances Cranmer Greenman, 20th C Amer Artist Opening at Hennepin History Museum, Mpls, MN

Art show opening nighters include Michele and Marathoner who lust for the painting of turquoise Coventry with the exotic flower.
Openings usually feature wine and cheese. I am wearing a wine splash from that event that the "principessa of photoshop" next to me will take care of. No luck with Oxyclean, though, and it wasn't even me that was drinking the wine! I am one of the few Italians who only like it in recipes; for example, marsala in Sicilian dessert cannoli & red port in wine balls. The pearls are an heirloom from Majorca, Spain, silvery black to match my coloring and baroque white for Gina's June birthstone.

At least I was splashed with wine and not blood. Women Against Military Madness featured St. Kate's Professor Pat Olson's "Mopping" and Sam's American-Iraqi's presentation 4/6/06. He literally was cleaning up debris in Baghdad's streets, something which has not been done by sanitation engineers for over 2 years. Students have less than 3 hours a day of electricity. He believes that if Americans were not there, there would be less violence. Amen. Palm Sunday 4/9 tomorrow focuses on a march at 2:30 in front of the Cathedral regarding the stalemate of immigration issues. There is a House immigration bill that would criminalize church outreach to immigrants that has been denounced by some prominent Catholic bishops.

Meanwhile, Ecuadorean immigrant Maria, lies jailed in St. Paul since 4/3 for being without papers, a WOP. That was a term used for Italians, too. She is in a coma now at Regions Hospital for a preexisting parasitic brain infection.

Christy is the granddaughter of Frances Cranmer Greenman, 2oth Century American artist. Frances, Wanda Gag and Clara Mairs had a three woman exhibition at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
She had several "one man exhibitions," which is interesting as she is a woman. The opening of the current one woman exhibition was at the Hennepin History Museum, kitty corner from the Minneapolis Institute of Art on Third Avenue. Frances painted the official portrait of Governor Rolvaag, too, and other Minnesota luminaries. Portraits of her two daughters, Christy's mom and Coventry, were alive with signature details such as South American slave bracelets displayed in front of the nude wearing them. Curator Jack's selection of an exotic floral display reinforced the bold flowers in the other daughter's portrait.
